Course Syllabus
Week 1-2: Concept Ideation & Data Gathering
We find a STEM topic you are passionate about (e.g., fluid dynamics, astrophysics) and gather real-world data or research papers. We map out the visual hierarchy and narrative.
Week 3-6: Technical Drafting & Prototyping
Using Illustrator and Procreate, we build the foundational geometric structures. We focus heavily on layout, typography, and color theory to ensure the science reads clearly.
Week 7-10: Articulation & Refinement
Adding texture, lighting, and advanced visual effects to elevate the diagram into a piece of fine art. We iterate based on weekly critiques.
Week 11-12: Portfolio Integration & Essay Writing
We format the final pieces for the Common App and write the accompanying essays, ensuring your artistic statement perfectly aligns with your STEM achievements.
